How do we get there?
The campsite is just off Denny Lane, Chew Magna, Bristol BS40 8SZ.
Once you complete your booking, we will send you an arrival pack with detailed directions to the site and where to check in once you’ve arrived.
Can we park on the pitch? Is there a car park? Can we drive in and out of the site?
You can park on your pitch. Please ensure you keep to 5mph maximum whilst driving around the site. We are operating a one way system to limit vehicle movement, you can drive to your pitch between 2pm and 8 pm and then can leave site between 8am and 12 pm. at all other times we would ask that you do not drive around the site as there are lots of pedestrians and children.
I have booked a Bell Tent. What do I need to do?
If you have booked a Bell Tent, please arrive on site and head to Reception and we will get you checked in. There will be a car park area to leave your vehicles then we will show you to your Bell Tent. You will receive more details on confirmation of your booking.
What’s the minimum age limit? Can we have a hen / stag do there?
Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult. Stag and hen do’s welcome, but let us know so we can find you a space away from the quiet camping area, and please be respectful of others around you. You may also need to consider social distancing requirements if you’re coming as a large group that don’t normally live together. This will be dependent on the guidelines issued by the government at the time of your stay. Please contact us if you’re not sure!
What food can we buy on site?
We will have our very own onsite restaurant, offering you daily cooked breakfast using the finest organic ingredients, a pizza oven and burger bar, open daily from 12-9pm AND a bistro, open every evening from 6pm delivering a fine dining experience with mouth-watering flavoursome food cooked for your pleasure by the South West’s leading chefs.
Bristol bakery Hobbs House will be doing a daily bread delivery which will include croissants and bread which can be pre-ordered at Reception.
We will also provide you with an onsite campsite shop, selling organic vegetables fresh from the farm, organic local meat, milk and eggs, as well as vegan plant-based alternatives.
What is the on site shop like?
The on site Organic Farm Food Shop will stock essentials – this list may vary and is not exhaustive so please bring what you need if you can. If not there are shops local to the camp site that will have a broader range of items:
- Plant based milk (oat milk/almond milk)

- Vegan spread
- Olive oil
- Salt & Pepper
- Yogurts & Cheeses
- Free range organic eggs
- Local Honey
- Organic Crisps and Snacks

When is the campsite open from and until?
The campsite opens on Tuesday 4th August until Tuesday 1st September 2020.
What can we bring – Fire pits? Dogs? Sound Systems?
Dogs are allowed if they are kept on a lead in camp at all times. Lunge leads are fine but please make sure that you keep your dog close to your pitch and under control.
No large sound systems but you can bring small Mini Rig speakers to play music in camp as long as you’re respectful of your neighbours and it is turned off late at night.
No open fires or fire pits are allowed on pitches. BBQs are allowed but must be raised off the grass. Please ensure BBQs are properly extinguished before going to bed or dumping the coals.
What are the pitches like? How big are they? What can we bring to camp in? Can I camp with my mates? Can we block an area for big groups?
Pitches will all be really spacious – 12 x 12m and all with beautiful views of Chew Valley Lake. We have given everyone ample space to park a car plus a tent or a car plus a caravan or campervan. If you think you will need more space please confirm this with us when you book, so we can ensure you get the space you need. Caravans can have an awning and campervans can have an awning plus extra tent.
Pitches are intended for family groups who normally live together. If you are coming with a group of friends and want to camp near each other, please let us know their names at the point of confirmation so we can group you together. We will do our best to accommodate groups as big as you want but we just need to know in advance so we can plan for it.
What do we do with our waste/rubbish? Can I empty my chemical toilet on site?
Waste bins will be provided, including recycling bins which we encourage everyone to use as much as possible. There is a chemical waste disposal point on site.
How will the toilets work?
Toilets will be continuously cleaned throughout the day by our full time dedicated cleaning staff. Antibacterial gel and wipes will be provided and there is a mandatory use of hand gel before entering and exiting the facilities on site.
What will the restaurants be serving? Will there be vegan/veg options? What if I have a dietary requirement or allergy issue?
Our restaurant will be serving freshly cooked food daily. Menus will be uploaded on to the website and shared on social media so please make sure you check them out! Vegan/Veggie and gluten free options will be available. Please let us know of any dietary requirements when you book your meals and we will endeavour to cater for your needs.
How do we sign up for the activities on site? Will you supply yoga mats?
Yoga mats provided but you will need to pre book in advance – either online or at reception. Classes are £5 each. For one to one or higher levels yoga please contact us to book.
Will there be first aid on site?
The First Aid box will be located at reception and there will always be First Aid trained staff on site to assist.
What facilities do you have on site for cleaning, washing up, water taps, showers, electric (phone charging) etc
There will be hot showers running daily from 8.30am – 11.30am & 4.30pm – 8pm.
Showers are cleaned between each use and our operatives are available during operational hours to coordinate access.
There will be clean drinking water on tap – just bring containers to fill up. You can use this for washing up too. But it won’t be hot!
There will be no electric hook ups on pitches but you will be able to charge your phone in reception free of charge
What time do we check in / out?
You can check in between 2pm and 8pm. If you’re going to arrive later than 8pm please contact us as soon as possible via phone so we can ensure that there will be someone to greet you and get you settled in.
Check out is by 12pm
What is the minimum / maximum length of stay?
There is no minimum or maximum, stay as long or as little as you like! We offer a discounts off the overall price for extended stays:
Stay over 3 nights and get a 10% discount
Stay over 5 nights and get 20% discount
Can we use cash or cards?
Cash and card both accepted onsite. No cashback available.
Can we bring our own booze? Will there be glass bins?
You are welcome to bring your own booze, there will be recycling bins on site. We do have a great fully stocked bar on site too!
Can we swim in the lake?
Sadly there is no swimming in the lake due to dangerous undercurrents. But you can walk around it and enjoy the stunning views. Please don’t enter the lake – we cannot be held responsible for anyone getting into difficulty in the water if they enter at their own risk and it is prohibited as part of our campsite rules. Can we have BBQs? Do you sell charcoal?
Yes BBQs are allowed but must be raised off the ground… no disposables please!
Charcoal will be available to buy in the campsite shop.
What makes this eco friendly compared to normal camping?
Campsite run entirely by solar

No single use plastics onsite
Do you have to pay for the entertainment or kids activities on site?
All on site activities included in the pitch prices, unless specified on the website.
Are we allowed to invite guests to visit us on site during the day?
Yes you are allowed to invite guests to the campsite. They must check in at Reception when they arrive and park in the car park. There is a charge of £10 per adult, £2.50 per child (Under 2’s are free) or a Family ticket (2 Adults, 2 Kids) is £20 for the day. This means they can use all the facilities and take part in activities all day. Tickets are valid for 1 day only.
